ULTRAMEGASESSION x MEGASESSION
In a
conventional Megasession, on average, 2,000
to 2,200 follicular units (FUs) are transplanted,
having removed the longest and widest area
possible. Even if we were to try to remove
more from the donor area, we would not be
able to as we run the risk of widening the
scar, creating sections without hair in the
donor area. Thus, we must respect the maximum
elasticity permitted.
However, some patients have: a very high number
of follicular units per square centimeter
(more than 70), a high percentage of 3-hair
FUs, and high skin elasticity in the donor
area, which permits us to remove a wider area.
In these particular cases, we are able to
obtain Follicular Units (FUs) beyond the limits
of a Megasession.
This procedure, we call an Ultramegasession,
which corresponds to the maximum possible
FUs to be transplanted in a single session
for that specific patient. This number can
vary between 2.500 and 3.000 follicular units
depending on the elasticity and density of
the donor area.
However it is
important that you remember that not all
patients have a donor area sufficient
for an Ultramegasession. |
So that
we may be certain if your case permits an
Ultramegasession, we need to analyze the elasticity
of your scalp and perform a microscopic analysis
to determine your hair density, how many follicular
units you have per square centimeter. These
analyses are only possible in person, therefore
we may only indicate an Ultramegasession after
having analyzed your case personally.
